Godello, A, Coroa, Valdeorras, Spain 2015
A Coroa has only been around 10 years, but is already considered the benchmark of what well-made, unadultered Godello can be. The last vintage was the top pick with a three star rating in the recent New York Times article on Godello, they describe this as, "clean, fresh and inviting, with deep, rich mineral and fruit flavors that were ripe and savory and a texture that made you want to keep sipping.
The nose shows warm notes with refreshing sweetness of elderflower, jasmine and grass, which merge with freshly cut fruit such as pear, apple and mango with a refreshing citrus finish. The palate is structured and powerful; memories of citrus appear, especially grapefruit juice, with its subtle bitterness - that makes a long aftertaste, delicate and very elegant.
