Mediterranean Mountain Wine, Sedella, Spain 2010
Deep blue with violet hues in colour. Sedella has a developing nose of liquorice, dried plums and herbs that gives way to medium bodied fruit on the palate with fine, smooth tannins, crisp acidity and a lovely, lingering finish.
Sedella is the personal project of Spanish winemaker Lauren Rosillo, who established his 'mountain wine' winery in 2006. The 2.5 hectares of organic vineyards are located on steep (45°) slate slopes at 650 metres above sea level, near the small town of Sedella. The altitude and proximity to the sea gives Sedella elegance and freshness.
