Sauvignon Blanc, Dourthe Number 1, Bordeaux, France 2014
This wine is sourced from silty, clay soils in northern Blaye, giving intensity and aromatics, as well as clay-limestone in north-east and south-east Entre Deux Mers, which provides depth and complexity.. Twenty years of vinification experience has allowed Dourthe to identify the best locations in Bordeaux to produce Sauvignon Blanc.
The fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel, and six months spent ageing on its lees, the wine has great balance and finesse. Aromas are aromatic and concentrated, with fresh citrus combined with notes of passionfruit, a crisp acidity and lovely structure with a long and persistent finish. A great aperitif!
